IceDogs 2009 - 2010 NCHL Champions

The IceDogs have repeated as NCHL champions with a 3-2 win in the deciding game vs Drayton Valley.  After easily disposing of Athabasca and Legal in the first two rounds, the IceDogs faced off against a much tougher opponent in Drayton Valley.  The Wildcats took games 1 and 4 in the series to set up the exciting 5th game.  The Dogs', in front of their largest crowd of the year, would not dissapoint as they walked away with the George Vanberg Cup and the chance to represent the NCHL at the Senior AA provincials in Brooks, Alberta.  The IceDogs will face off against the host Brooks Blackhawks on Friday, April 2nd at 8:00pm in their first game in their quest for the provincial banner.

Jones named playoff MVP

The oustanding goaltending of Richard Jones in the playoffs garnered him the award of playoff MVP.  Jones posted a 6-2 record in the playoffs and was the difference on many nights guiding the 'Dogs to their second consecutive championship.

Jones, Nichols, Thompson, Caoutte receive awards

The NCHL league awards were handed out and the IceDogs were well represented.  Top Goaltender and 1st All-Star Team Goaltender went to Richard Jones.  Top Defenseman and 1st All-Star Team Defenseman went to Brandon Nichols.  Ryan Thompson and Cory Caouette were both members of the Second All-Star Team as a Defenseman and Forward respectively.
